Celebrity Poker

 

FX International, LLC is pleased to bring you the Inaugural FX Celebrity Poker Challenge. This event will be held on Friday, April 17, 2009 as part of the 20th anniversary celebration of the FX Show.

 

The FX Celebrity Poker Challenge is a charitable event with 100% of the net proceeds being donated to the American Cancer Society and other related organizations.

 

Dealers will consist of FX guest celebrities, local celebrities, comic book professionals and tournament staff. The celebrity dealers will rotate from table to table, allowing all players an opportunity to meet them.

 

Players in the tournament will be made of up comic professionals, local celebrities, international celebrities and the general public. Eligibility to play is as follows:

• Player must be 18 years of age or older at time of tournament. ID will be verified.
• Minimum “buy-in” donation to the tournament is $100.00 (USD) but players are encouraged and welcome to donate more.
• A player of legal age may be sponsored with a minimum $100.00 (USD) donation by any other individual or company.

This will be an elimination tournament eventually ending in a single table of players and a single winner. Awards and prizes will be handed out to the three top players. Additionally, a special award will be presented to the highest donor. The winner of the tournament will have their choice of one (1) piece of original comic art from the card deck (see below).

 

Every registrant will be given a gift bag including an exclusive deck of cards, event t-shirt and more. Spectators who do not wish to play will have the opportunity to watch from a gallery area.

 

To create the custom deck of cards, 57 different comic book professionals will create 57 individual pieces of art: 52 cards, two jokers, one card back, one instruction card and the deck box. Exclusive card decks will be manufactured to be used in the tournament, as well as sold as limited souvenirs. One piece of art will be awarded to the tournament champion and the remaining 56 pieces will be auctioned on Sunday to benefit the American Cancer Society and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The auction will also include one poker table top signed by participants and any additional items such as signed photos of celebrities, movie props and items donated by sponsors.
