FX 2009 Project Vinyl Artist's JAM

Back by popular demand following the success of our 2008 event, we are pleased to announce the return of the Project Vinyl Artist’s JAM!

Details are kind of vague right now as we are nailing down some things before we can make any major announcements. However, the basic information is below!

As with last year, an urban vinyl figure (as yet to be determined) will be decorated by today’s famous and up-and-coming artists in a 2 hour JAM event to be held at FX 2009 on Friday, April 17 from 5pm to 7pm (subject to change). The figures will then be displayed throughout the weekend for fans to view and vote for their favorite.

The winning artist will take home a great prize package (TBA). On Sunday, April 19 the decorated figures will be auctioned off. All proceeds from the sale of the customized figures will benefit the American Cancer Society. The 2008 event raised more than $2,100 for ACS, and we look forward to beating that amount in 2009!

Rules:

1). Artists will apply to participate and be accepted on a first come first served basis. There are a limited number of figures, so don’t wait! There is no cost to be involved.

2). You may use whatever medium you prefer. Keep in mind that the base coat is latex, and some solvent, oil, and alcohol based finishes may not work.

3). We will have some supplies available, but you are encouraged to bring some of your own to add to the customization.

4). As this is a charitable event, we ask that your finished figure be no worse than “R” rated.

5). Any spray work will have to be done outside the building on the loading dock.

6). You will have exactly 2 hours to complete your figure.
